Passion flower also known as Lilikoi is a nervine or tonic for the nervous system aiding in calming the nerves due to anxiety or overstimulation, easing depression, and for insomnia. It has been used as a strong and soothing sedative nervine relieving pain associated with overstimulation, hypersensitivity, and nerve pain (neuralgia). Cooling in nature and nourishing to the nervous system aiding the body to enter a state of relaxation and rest. Used as a heart tonic and anti-spasmodic aiding in strengthening and toning the cardiac system to help balance blood pressure, relax muscles, and help with stomach and menstrual cramps.
